Indeed, a quick update—as we’re all incredibly busy putting the final touches on the King Athelstan Project ahead of our big opening this Saturday!
The team has been working hard to polish every aspect of the experience. One exciting milestone: we’ve now fully integrated the immersive soundscape into the system, adding a powerful layer to the storytelling.
We’re still in the process of finalising animations for the key characters in our experience: King Athelstan, his Aunt, the Hound, and the Raven – as envisioned on our ambitious plan for the project’s Second Phase. These elements are coming together beautifully, and we’re pushing to have them ready and synchronised in time for the event.
Saturday is our clear deadline — the Opening Day at the historic Kingston Market House as part of the Kingston 2025 celebrations, and a proud moment for our Inter-KERI collaboration with KSA and collaboration with the Royal Borough of Kingston.
In parallel with development, there’s been a flurry of organisational activity behind the scenes: preparing risk assessments, arranging insurance certificates, and readying all the necessary equipment—not only the VR kits, but also a portable sound system for live talks, including an introduction from our featured artist, Andrew Sinclair.
It’s been a lot—but we’re nearly there, and we can’t wait to share the result with the public.
See you on Saturday!
